In Krakow, a special department is created to combat crime, searching for stolen works of art and pursuing criminals and fences. The main characters - two sisters, who are on opposite sides of the barricade in this fight: Alicja (Aleksandra Popławska), a brilliant art historian supporting the actions of the Police, and Ewa (Magdalena Różczka), a talented art dealer, dealing with specific - and not always legal - orders for wealthy art collectors.

Alicja quits her job as an expert at the Ministry of Culture in Warsaw and returns to her hometown of Krakow and starts working with the newly established Police Department. Meanwhile, her sister Ewa is one of the most important figures in a criminal group that robs valuable treasures. Their relationship is complicated also because of their difficult past.
